Palo Duro Canyon is amazing for many reasons, but nothing is more impressive than the geology you can see in the canyon's walls. Come along for a drive through the park to learn about the forces that formed the canyon and the fascinating rocks and minerals that make up the place. Prepare: Dress for the weather, wear good walking or hiking shoes and bring water to drink. Short walks will be taken to see the geology up close. Sign up is required, so visit park headquarters to put your name on the list. Be sure to arrive on time as your seat will be given to an alternate if you are late. Children are welcome on the tour, but they must be old enough to ride in the state van without a car or booster seat. No pets allowed. Meet: At park headquarters; look for the big white vans parked out front.  Fees: Regular park entrance fees ($5 per adult, children 12 & under are free). No charge for this program.
