Experience the rising of June’s Strawberry Moon, both with the naked eye, and through our telescope.

Watch the Strawberry Moon rise over the walls of Palo Duro Canyon and hear the tales of this special, summertime full moon. You’ll get the chance to view the full moon through our telescope in addition to watching the full moon rise at the rim of the canyon.

This program requires pre-registration and is open to the first 25 participants who register. Registration will be open from Sunday, May 28th at 8 am CDT to Friday, June 2nd at 5 pm CDT. A waitlist will be available if more than 25 participants register. Participants will only move from the waitlist in the case of cancellation of participants ahead of them in the queue.

Further information about this hike will be given to participants upon registration.

Things You Should Know: 

• Meet: Will be disclosed to registered participants.
• Bring: Weather appropriate clothing (jackets, etc.), and a headlamp/flashlight. You may also want to bring binoculars or your own night sky viewing equipment.
• Cost: Included with admission to the park. Park admission is free with a Texas State Park Pass(purchased before event).
